A new teaser photo and trailer for the upcoming fantasy and magic anime Mashle: Magic And Muscles have been released (via Comic Natalie), confirming that the anime will debut on April 7.
The performers of the opening and closing theme songs have also been revealed, along with new voice actors and production personnel.
Mashle is essentially an anime adaptation of Harry Potter’s wizarding world because it takes place in a magically-ruled society. However, the main character in Mashle is magic-impaired.
People who are incapable of using magic (and are distinguished by lacking Harry’s lightning mark) are plagued by the landscape.
Mashle and his adoptive father will never be able to coexist together unless Mashle enrols at the Easton Magic Academy and earns the title of Divine Visionary (with a fake facial lightning mark).
As Rayne Ames, one of the school’s “Divine Visionaries,” or exceptionally special students who influence and maintain peace in the nation, Yuuki Kaji—the voice actor who played Eren in Attack On Titan—joins the anime.
Yuichiro Umehara will provide the voice for Abel Walker, another significant figure and the head of the school’s covert group Magia Lupus (Mars in Black Clover and the title character in Goblin Slayer).
The voice of Abyss Razor, a different member of Magia Lupus, will undoubtedly be provided by Hiroki Nanami (Asakura Haou in Shaman King).
Taiiku Okazaki, who performed the song Pose for the first closing theme of Pokemon: Sun & Moon, will be handling the opening song, and the musical group “Philosophy no Dancing” will be singing the ending song.
The group previously worked on the theme song for the anime The Honor Student at Magic High School and the opening song for Ayakashi Triangle.
Tomonari Tanaka, who has directed Bungo Stray Dogs, Hunter X Hunter, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners before, will be the anime’s studio A-1 Pictures.
Yousuke Kuroda, who has written the script for numerous anime films such as Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Honey and Clover, will be in charge of it.
The soundtrack will be created by Masaru Yokoyama, who also composed the scores for Fruits Basket, Astra Lost in Space, and Your Lie in April.
There are already 15 volumes of the Mashle manga, and the author revealed last year that from volume 11, the comic has entered its last arc.
